Here's an email that Robin just sent out with her latest information:
Hello Everyone ~
Many of you know I have been under medical care over the last few weeks awaiting the results of several tests.
I met with Dr Gary Leiserowitz, Chief, Div. of Gynecologic Oncology, UC Davis Cancer Center on Friday, and he did confirm that I do have Vaginal Cancer. I also, have a tumor on my right ovary, which will be surgically removed. The Dr. will not know until he removes the ovarian tumor and some of my lymph nodes weather the cancer has spread. Standard treatment for Vaginal Cancer is chemo and radiation.
It has also been confirmed that I have CML (no connection to the Vaginal Cancer), "Chronic Myeloid Leukemia," which is treatable by medication. Thank the Lord it is in the “first phase.” (My treating hematologist/oncologist is Dr. Robert Miller – recently appointed to head-up Breast Cancer Research at John’s Hopkins in Baltimore, Md.)
I should be hearing from the Dr. Leiserowitz some time next week regarding the date of my Surgery. After the surgery, I will go directly to my Mom's home so that she can care for me, with the help of my sister Mackie and many other family and friends. The Dr. anticipates I will be 3-days in hospital and six-weeks for recovery. They will start my chemo/radiation 2-weeks post operative. Dan will continue staying focused on his job and each evening he will be able to stop by Mom’s house to be with me.
I am in excellent spirits and know that am being cared for by two highly skilled physicians, and, of course, thanks to all of you for all your prayers and concern. I am truly resting in God's peace and hope for a “healthy full life.” Please continue to keep the family and me in your prayers.

Tezra,
Thank you for being such a loving, caring daughter-in-law! Robin, Scott's kept me informed as to what's transpired over the past few weeks with your health ... and I want you to know how much you've been thought of, prayed for, and talked about during that time, and now we're going to be doing that even more!! We're grateful for your medical team (seems top-notch!!), an early diagnosis of the CML, and your amazing faith. We love and ADORE YOU!! XOXOX Cathy & Scott Terpstra
